WETE (CARGO AND PASSENGER)

Located in the North of Pemba, consist of a jetty of 147m long and 6.5m wide, can accommodate small lighters landing crafts and dhows. Receiving Cargo and passengers from mainland Tanzania and Unguja.

The government has decided to improve Wete Port due to the fact that the port is the main link between Unguja and Pemba, but needs to be developed and link to other ports such as Tanga and Mombasa, Kenya as well as connecting to other areas in terms of transportation.
