Zanzibar Port corporation (ZPC) signed the first official Public and Private Partnership (PPP)in Zanzibar With Fumba Inland Container Depot / Terminal on the 10/05/2023, with aim of developing a fully operational port with modern equipments.
FICP intends to invest over 6m USD, in a free economic zone, an area approximately 4.96 hectors with capacity operations of 3000 TEUS
FICD intends to develop another economic gate way which intends to tackle the current challenges affecting Malindi Port.
FICD officially started operations on October-2023 , currently only receiving land craft vessels, with future plans of constructing a jetty to enable direct call from International liners vessels.
