The visit holds special significance due to the contribution of Hon. Dr. Karume, who is among the founders of ZPC. He served as the Minister of Communications in 1997, when Act No. 1 of 1997, which established the Corporation, was passed.

The visit symbolizes solidarity, respect, and appreciation for his contribution to the development of Zanzibar’s port sector.
