Second Vice President of Zanzibar, Hon. Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, today, Saturday, July 4, 2026, visited and inspected the progress of the Mpiga Duri (Maruhubi) Port Project.

During the visit, the Second Vice President was received by the Director General of the Zanzibar Ports Corporation (ZPC), who briefed him in detail on the progress made in implementing the project, as well as the development of various infrastructure facilities under construction.

The visit aimed to assess firsthand the progress of this strategic project, which is expected to improve maritime transport services, enhance the efficiency of port operations, stimulate the growth of the blue economy, and strengthen Zanzibar’s position as a hub for trade and maritime transport in the East African region.
